International Social Film Festival of Catalonia

The International Social Film Festival of Catalonia in 7 points:

• 19 editions growing to become a reference as a major film festival in Bages, while representing the social causes of the region, Catalonia, Spain, Europe and the world.
• More than 30 social entities involved in the operation of the festival.
• Apart from the awards for the best films in our official section, we give two solidary awards as relevant as Pere Casaldàliga —which Nobel Prize winners such as José Saramago and Adolfo Pérez Esquivelhave endorsed— and the Insert award linked to the association Ampans. Figures such as Olivier Assayas, Rodrigo Sorogoyen, Elías Querejeta, Jaime Rosales, Montxo Armendáriz, Isaki Lacuesta and Agustí Villaronga have received our Honorary Award.
• In 2022, we were one of the Catalan festivals with more films nominated for the Gaudí, Goya, Oscar and Cesar, including the Spanish premiere of "La nuit du 12", which would end up being the big winner of the French awards
• We had more than 12.000 spectators, both in person and online. Of these, 1,000 were students that we took to the sessions we organized exclusively for them.
• We have created, along with the Fundació Universitària del Bages, a Citizen Science Laboratory, with the purpose of detecting social problems and actively searching for solutions.
• Àlex Gorina, the veteran film journalist of Catalunya Ràdio, said live on his program that the 18th International Social Film Festival of Catalonia was "The best festival that anyone in our country could aspire to". We want to continue in this direction.
